Los Angeles, CA – SOUR is the first urban skate documentary to be filmed in the middle
east; offering a fresh, fast-paced and inspiring perspective of peace building and Middle Eastern urban youth culture. Already familiar with images of war and destruction from the media, this film asks the real question — “What does an instrument of peace look like?” Filmed during the Lebanon/Israel War of 2006, SOUR features a youthful ensemble of top Arab and Israeli skaters jumping borders and culture barriers to share a united passion for skating and life. In essence, ‘Sour,’ is a film about doing the things you love with people you’re not supposed to like. Director nathan gray states, “this was very much a grassroots experiment of two groups skating together and searching for new street spots. This is why we talk about a peace process that was born in the streets. It was not drafted in a boardroom by politicians but rather by youth who took an initiative to make peace happen.” From the filmmaker: Official website | Trailer | Buy the DVD | Hosting materials Tags: , activism, israel, unity, peace, Element, arab, middle east, culture, jewish, Skate, Jordan, grassroots, urban sports, shared passion, skate to create, Nathan Gray, Sean Scarritt, Sudip Peterson, Youth Empowerment, Conflict Resolution, Youth Sports, Skateboard, Elemental Awareness No screenings of Sour are currently scheduled.
